The office said to stay home again tomorrow… I’m sure glad I’m on salary. I was wise enough to bring home my work notebook computer, so I’m able to at least keep up with the emails. We shoveled the blizzard off the driveway and walkway this afternoon. However, the road hasn’t been plowed yet. It’s getting to be a challenge finding a place to put the stuff!
The office where I work is closed tomorrow due to an expected ten inches of snow or so. The powers sent out an email to tell everyone. They were a little emphatic that even the workaholics should stay home:
So that the Facilities team can adequately support snow removal operations throughout the day tomorrow, we ask that you please not come into the office building.
Okay, I get it. I’ll stay home. In fact, I’m sleeping in tomorrow!

I really don’t like snow… we had about two feet of the stuff over the weekend, and another 10-20 inches are on the way. Blech!

I had hopes that we were in a warming trend and winter was finally waning. But it is not so. In fact, it snowed much of yesterday and this morning we woke to some five inches of the stuff on the ground. Blech. I really like snow, but it should be like a an in-law: You can visit them but they should never visit you.
Oh, wait. Never mind! I live with my mother-in-law! In any case, I’m weary of the snow and long for spring! As we were shoveling out this morning, I could not help but think I could be at Disney World instead.

Cold temperatures have returned, and we had some snow flurries today. Snow forecast for Saturday. Bummer.

We woke up to temps of 60 degrees F! For the first time in weeks and weeks the lake is not frozen over. Can it be that we’ve seen the last of winter? Hope springs eternal!

They say it is supposed to be icy tomorrow morning, and most folks at work were praying for a “snow day” tomorrow. Pretty funny.

I spend the last couple of days at the Wilberforce Weekend. It was a great experience! One of the coolest things was meeting a guy named Jim Ellis. He’s a retired USN Chaplain who served in the 9th CG District and knew my brother Bob.

I have the great honor of working at the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview. I was taken aback this morning when Chuck Colson stopped by my desk to congratulate me for a particular project I’ve been working on. He’s not often at the office, and for him to take a few minutes out of his incredibly busy schedule to come to thank me is really humbling. It is also a testament to the character of Chuck. He is the real deal when it comes to living out his faith.

I’m ready for global warming… well, at least local warming. It’s been a long, cold stretch. Ice has been on the lake for weeks. Today we got above freezing, up to the low 40′s. It is supposed to get up to 50 by Friday. I’m tired of being cold!
